The Life That I Live

Sometimes…I cry
Sometimes, I shout
Sometimes…I lie
Sometimes, I pout

It conspires to happen
as I try to be me
In this mad, mad, mad world
Absolutely the best—
— insanity

But there is also laughter
And grins that are shared
Of times mused on after
When I knew someone cared

So as I meander
through this construct called life
I will hope I can navigate
all the joys and the strife

With hope and with grace
…and lady-like lust
Never minding the pace
that will lead me to dust.

But sometimes,
just sometimes…

…I cry.
